Irene was born on November 14, 1937, in Charlotte, N.C., and spent her childhood in Belmar, N.J. She graduated from Manasquan High School and earned her B.A. and M.A. in education from Newark State College.
Irene taught Pre-K through third grade at Kentopp School in East Orange for 26 years. After residing in New Jersey, Irene moved to Texas, where she became a minister at the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas.
A dedicated educator and caring minister, Irene also enjoyed dancing, reading, traveling, and singing, and was known for her gentle warmth and sense of humor.
Left to treasure her memory are numerous family members and friends.
Irene was predeceased by her parents and her brother.
